General Information and Rules
1. Teams must be registered with payment to reserve a spot by September 25, 2018
2. Cookoff site will open at 8:00 am
3. Mandatory cooks meeting at 9:00 am (Judge cups issued)
4. Samples, People Choice, Judging at 11:00 am
5. Team will be assigned a 10x10 area
6. All teams must have two people. Teams will be limited to a total of 12 max
7. Each team is responsible for all equipment including
a. Canopy b. Cooking Stove or Grill c. No electric available
8. Chili can be pre-prepped but must be cooked on site
a. All food prep must be done in sanitary manner
9. Water will be available for washing cooking items
10. All ingredients must come from approved food sources, so it is an absolutely safe for public consumption (No Road Kill) call Weld County Health Department with questions
11. No canned chili allowed ... anything else goes!
12. Each team will be assigned a tea number and given a quart cup with lids to be submitted to judges ... Blind Taste Test
13. Winners will be announced at approximately 1:00 pm
14. The public will select the People’s Choice Award Every quarter (.25 cents) = one vote. Vote Often!
15. Five (5) gallons of chili is minimum amount of chili needed for samples, judging and People’s Choice
16. Awards will be given for the “Best Chili” $100.00 1st place $50.00 2nd place $25.00 3rd place $25.00 “People’s Choice”
17. The Chili Cookoff benefits the boys and girls club of Larimer County
